Data stored on your device
DreamAtlas stores journal entries, titles, drafts, wishes, an optional display name, manually selected country, optional birthday, preferences, companions, accessories, and game progress locally on your device. Journal entries, recoverable drafts, and progress containing free-form wishes are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with key material protected by Android Keystore. Android cloud backup is disabled.
Data collection and sharing
The current release has no DreamAtlas-operated account, cloud sync, community, analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting service. It does not upload raw dream writing or collect precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. Country selection is manual and map presentation is country-level.
Dictation and notifications
Dictation is started by you and opens the speech provider configured on your device. That provider may process audio under its own privacy terms. DreamAtlas does not record or retain audio and receives only returned text that you choose to save. Optional local reminders use generic wording and do not include journal content.
DreamAtlas Plus and Google Play
The Android app includes Google Play Billing components, but DreamAtlas Plus purchasing is currently paused until secure server-side purchase verification is available. If Plus is activated in a future release, Google Play will process payment and DreamAtlas will receive only the limited purchase-token and status information needed to verify and restore access. We will review this policy before activation.
Your controls
You can export a readable JSON backup, restore a backup, disable sharing, remove a birthday, enable device lock, or permanently delete all local DreamAtlas data from Profile & Privacy. Uninstalling the app also removes its app-private local data. Exported JSON is readable and should be stored securely.
